Keep Her in School

Pregnancy, poverty or adversity should not end a girl's education. H.E.R supports vulnerable girls to remain in school and continue building their futures.

Keep Her in School

A girl's circumstances should not determine the limits of her future.

Teenage pregnancy remains a significant challenge in South Africa. In August 2026, the Commission for Gender Equality convened a national gathering specifically to address its causes and consequences, including connections with poverty, gender inequality and gender-based violence.

The Commission emphasised that pregnant and parenting adolescents should be supported to remain in, or return to, school without discrimination.

H.E.R wants to help girls facing these circumstances with practical educational assistance, dignity supplies, mentorship, referrals and other support that can reduce the risk of them abandoning their education.

Becoming a young mother does not erase a girl's potential. Experiencing poverty does not diminish her intelligence. Surviving abuse does not define her future.

Sometimes empowerment begins with one simple message:

Keep going. Your future still belongs to you.
